The eccentric hemisphere valve cannot be installed horizontally, that is, the valve rod cannot be installed in the horizontal direction. Otherwise, the cryogenic medium will fill the extended part of the bonnet, resulting in the failure of the valve packing, which will transfer the cooling capacity to the valve handle, causing personal injury to the operator.
2. Pressure relief direction
As previously mentioned, eccentric hemisphere valves generally release pressure in the upstream direction. It should be noted here that this upstream direction is not always the opposite direction to the pipeline flow direction, and it should be exactly the upstream direction when the valve is closed.
For example, the installation direction of the block valves at both ends of the control valve for maintenance should be opposite, and the pressure relief direction of both block valves should be opposite to the direction of the control valve. In this way, during the maintenance of the control valve, when the two shut-off valves are closed, they can respectively release pressure to the connected pipeline, otherwise the gas in the valve chamber will be released to the atmosphere, causing environmental pollution and explosion risk.
